OVERVIEW

Siddharth is an animation and visual effects artist with industry experience of more than 12 years. Before doing his masters in visual effects from Bournemouth University, UK, he worked with studios such as Crest Animation Studios, Pixion, Tata Elxsi – Visual computing Labs as a 3D artist / generalist. While in the UK, he worked as 3D artist for gaming and later as Render TD with Framestore – the Oscar wining visual effects studio in London. Across his career Siddharth have worked on popular TV animated shows like Arthur’s Missing Pal, Piggley Winks, Casper; animation and VFX movies like Arjun – the warrior prince, Maha Yoddha Rama, Robocop, Jupiter Ascending, Guardians of the Galaxy, Edge of Tomorrow, Paddington Bear and many TV commercials.

At SMI, Siddharth headed the BVoc program in the capacity of Associate Dean and currently head the Digital Media Production course as Head of Studies. Siddharth is also a Doctoral scholar at SMI with particular interest in pedagogy, new technologies in animation and VFX.

CURRENT PRACTICE AT SRISHTI

Curriculum design and development for animation and VFX, leadership role under BVoc to continually enhance and enrich the students learning experience, Research Scholar.

TEACHING PORTFOLIO

Siddharth facilitates various kinds of courses and units ranging from VFX compositing, motion graphics, moving image theories, stop-motion animation, foundation courses, etc. He also mentors many final year project students under BFA, BDes and BVoc.

Projects showcase:

Students explored found grids from architectural sections to create covers of a (fictional) magazine - Advanced Typography and Layout
Anatomy of Type - Students explored letterforms to understand the different parts of type
During our time at ‘Mangalajodi’ village in Odisha, students exercised a mapping activity. The activity spanned over 3 days, engaging the students with the residents of the village, familiarizing with the space and understanding the cultural landmarks - Study of Social Ecology
