OVERVIEW
Niret Alva is an award winning television journalist, producer, anchor and director. Miditech the independent content production company he co-founded has won over 80 national and international awards for its documentaries, reality shows, drama series and kids programming. Niret teaches at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore and works on carefully chosen creative projects .

WORK EXPERIENCE
Over 36 years of commercial television experience, as a director, producer, anchor, scriptwriter and journalist and over seven years of teaching experience as Faculty at SMI.

World affairs, History, Sustainability and Creative leadership.
CURRENT PRACTICE AT SRISHTI
Facilitating and Anchoring 8th Semester multi-disciplinary projects, Designing Workshops, Running Studios and conducting Master Classes. Currently Lead the Art in Transit Lab at SMI and also work on marketing initiatives for SMI.
TEACHING PORTFOLIO
Wide and varied. Essentially design and run workshops, studios and projects that simulate real world scenarios with deadlines, and role play to prepare students for the creative industries when they leave college.
