How is the relationship between design and materials evolving?

Issue 31 of PAD Journal invites contributions that explore the changing relationship between design and materials, from material innovation and Research through Design to sustainability, material cultures, AI-assisted material development, design education, and emerging material futures.
We welcome original theoretical, empirical, methodological, and practice-based research from all design disciplines.

Abstract submission deadline: 30 August 2026
Full paper submission deadline: 20 October 2026
Publication: December 2026
