In the fourth-year HCD project ‘Edutech for all’, we asked fundamental questions concerning technology, learning and society. How do we understand ‘technology’ in education? What and how much digital technology should we use in making education accessible, learner-friendly and inclusive? And in what ways do tangible, physical learning materials have an advantage over digital technology? In exploring the idea of “edutech for all”, we adopted a human-centred approach to designing for education, emphasizing learning contexts and the people within these contexts. We explored digital, phygital and physical mediums in a spirit of play and collaborated and co-designed with learners, teachers and experts to address real-world learning needs.
