Apply if:

  1. You have at least 2 to 5 years of professional experience in the field of 3D animation, visual effects and / or related fields.
  2. You have experience or are passionate about teaching. You may have had a role in training and developing training modules in the industry or in an educational context.
  3. You have abilities of effective creative and technical problem solving, conceptual thinking and innovation.
  4. You have an interest in research and / or developing your own practice in animation and visual effects and / or in the field of education, industry training, technical innovation, skill enhancement etc.
  5. You prefarrably possess a Master’s Degree specialised in areas of animation, visual effects or any other forms of manipulated moving images.

Your skills, work experience and knowledge-base span at least two or more areas:

  1. 3D animation (assests, character, animation etc.)
  2. Visual Effects (compositing)
  3. Animation pre-production, production and / or post-production
  4. Literature, performing arts, film and animation studies
  5. Game Design and Development
  6. Computation and coding
  7. Film, video and sound

This Program is based on the notion of work-based learning, which has been defined as

“Work-based learning (WBL) is an educational strategy that provides students with real-life work experiences where they can apply academic and technical skills and develop their employability.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work-based_learning).

The program goes beyond treating technical education as a lower classification in the hierarchy of higher educational opportunities and while it fulfills the mandate of the National Skills Qualification Framework –NSQF – it works at the higher level of skills and competences needed for the creative industries, which is the fastest growing sector of the Indian economy. The 3 year Undergraduate Program has certain clear characteristics. They are:

  1. Duration of a minimum of 3 years to earn a university degree – Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) in an area of specialization
  2. Has multiple points of entry and exit with certification as per the published norms
  3. Sequenced guidance and learning in work related tasks (defined as core competences and skills)
  4. Clear line of sight to work or employment in the relevant sector.
  5. Work experience based learning (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work-based_learning) through a clear and well articulated linkages program.
  6. Access to and evaluation by industry led standards
  7. Opportunities to become a specialist in a niche area of the industry
