Experimental Media Arts is a field of creative practice, dialogue and research that combines contemporary art, technology, the sciences and design for artistic expression, innovation and social intervention. Through exploring their intersections, students acquire unique hands-on knowledge and skills, and develop transdisciplinary approaches to creative work and research.

The field of studies that Experimental Media Arts encompasses are Contemporary Art and New Media (such as history of art, film, gaming, internet, virtual/mixed/augmented reality, interactive environments), Histories of Science and Technology, Natural and Biological Sciences, Electronics and Electronic Systems to inform the production of artistic projects, design products and creative experiments.
